Ok already, I have been looking for a good cordless phone for under $100.00 and after writing this review I still find myself looking. I bought the Toshiba SG1700 in hopes that it’s powerful 2.4Ghz Digital Spread Spectrum technology would give me the edge on poor sounding echo laden conversations. The phone’s styling is decent looking and the handset is somewhat compact, that’s the only good thing I have to say about this phone. The Sound quality was surprisingly dismal. This seemingly powerful phone delivered a hissingly echo-like sound whenever I used it. I did everything the troubleshooting guide told me, but to no avail. My spouse’s friend summed it up best when she said, "hey did you get a cell phone?" my wife responded "no, this is our new cordless phone."

The only way I could find to fix this phones sound quality was to track down the receipt and take the shortcut back to the Best Buy Return Desk.
