Not quite pleased Sony SPP A2470 2.4 GHz / 900 MHz 1Line Cordless Phone

No static on either end. More importantly no echo. Answerer clarity very good. The silver is almost too much. I don’t find the handset as comfortable as I’d expected. On the plus side and very important to me is the ability to access messages from the answerer from the handset. Clarity ultimately is the one thing one desires and it is indeed clear. Jog dial makes call backs easy. Answerer is easy to set-up. Overall, every facet is easier than the Panasonic I have. It’s the second 2.4ghz I’ve owned and the absence of echo stands out the most. Again: Clarity and Lack of Echo.

EXS9960 A Great Phone Uniden EXS 9660 900 MHz 2Line Cordless Phone

I should start this review by saying I bought three other more expensive phones (two in the 2.4 Ghz range) and took them back before picking this gem up. I have owned a Sanyo 900 MHz Digital Spread Spectrum phone for 5 years. The Sanyo cordless was a super phone, but it had seen it’s better days (dropped a couple of times) and I wanted a cordless with Caller Id.

After striking out with three other brands (I can’t really recommend 2.4 Ghz)I thought I was being too picky. So did the salesperson. Now I realize I wasn’t, because this Uniden phone has everything I want.

From the frying pan to the fire. Uniden TRU8866 5.8 GHz 2Line Cordless Phone

We replaced an nearly identical Uniden System with this after we lost two handsets during the move.

We moved into a house more than double the size of our old house, not to mention having a garage. Not every space in the house had a phone jack, presenting a challenge. Then there was the problem with our wireless network and wireless alarm system.

What we like.

1. The frequency does not interfere with our wireless network or wireless alarm/camera system.

SPP ID910: Terrible caller id, phone is dying after 1.5 yrs Sony SPP ID910 900 MHz 1Line Cordless Phone

I’ve had this phone for about a year and a half and I will never buy a Sony cordless phone again. The caller ID feature is completely useless to me, as it does not display the caller’s # - only the name (although you can check the # after the call has ended). Most of the calls I get are from Canada, so they do not have a name associated with them.

The other big problem is that the phone will sometimes drop out in the middle of a conversation even when it’s only 20 feet away from the base station! This seems to happen more and more as the phone gets older.
